  • August, what a great month Peter !
I need a cigarette after all that foreplay 😉

    • Ric of The LBC

      Best comment ever!

    • Allan

      Isn’t the cigarette premature?

      • MB

I never heard of premature cigarette … are you sure you are not mistaking it for something else … 🙂

        • Allan

          🙂

I wasn’t sure if anybody would get it.

Matt Anderson’s comment is very funny.

    • lol 🙂

    • I need a D850. I have placed my order with a very reliable guy who has never let me down yet. Most probably will get it by 8th. Keeping my fingers crossed.

      • silmasan

I need to say “I need a D850” at least twenty one times a day for three weeks.

  • Pablo And-Jennifer Gabetta

Has anyone order a D850 from amazon?
My status is : Delivery date pending”
Does anyone have an actual date?
    Thanks

    • Fly Moon

      Not me. B&H

      • Pablo And-Jennifer Gabetta

I ordered locally, out of state and Amazon.
B&H never came thru with the D800; I guess they had too many orders.

        • Fly Moon

“B&H never came thru with the D800”

          What do you mean?

          • Pablo And-Jennifer Gabetta

My local store got my D800 the week of its release, even though I ordered two weeks after Amazon and B&H.
Amazon got shipment updates weekly, B&H never updated their shipments for like the first month.
My second D800 came about two week later from Amazon. (Held the pre order because a friend wanted one)
I was still waiting for my B&H order for my brother.
He got tired of waiting and ordered through local store who got it within two weeks.
After that I cancelled B&H but I kept hearing from my forum buddies that they were still waiting for their D800 from B&H up to three months later.
When I go to the city I love going inside B&H and I buy a lot from them, but for a new popular product I decided to go a different way.

I’m in the top 40 for my out of state brick and mortar store but I’m guessing they won’t be getting that kind number…

            • Fly Moon

              Hmmm. I get it now.
I hope we both get it next week 🙂

  • Alex Dawson

just got confirmed that I’ll get my camera on the first day of the launch in NPS Sweden 😀 Very exited!

    • Vince Vinnyp

Ditto I collect mine 11.00am Thursday London

      • MrWelshB

Me too! I get 2 850 on Thursday. Grips are not ready though.

  • Erwin Vanbrabant

Next week friday my dealer told me, thats for Belgium

  • Polsloe

Had confirmation from Wex (UK) that my pre-order will be delivered 7th September

    • Connor

Hope I’m not being a pain. I’ve ordered with Jessops I was 6th in the pre-order list. Do you know what number you are or how many they got in just trying to gauge if Jessops is going to get me one in the first shipping wave or if I’ll have to phone every camera shop haha

      • Polsloe

No idea what order I’m in, for all I know everyone that ordered from Wex has same email, but I did order minutes after the site was up

        • Connor

          Thanks for the reply 🙂

  • geofflivingston

It wasn’t enough, at least until real photographers use it. The new sensor is intriguing, but overall a systematic upgrade.

I’ll keep using my D810 as a primary, and bought a D750 for my overdue second body replacement. Until the mirrorless full frame comes along and launches (poorly or successfully), I am not going to invest $4k (after grip, etc). It maybe that $4k goes to a D850, but I am not there yet.

    • paige4o4

I think is mostly for the D800 crowd, and to attract people who might have gotten and the 5Ds and A7r, and feel like jumping ship.

      • geofflivingston

Yeah, I agree with that. I was thinking I’d wait another round and then replace the D810.

    • Michael

Not happy with outer focus points on D750. Hit or miss for full size portraits. Doubt D810 can autofocus any better. D5 autofocus is the major motivator here with cross type outer points. Also smaller square point should be easy on the eye focus. Current rectangular box feels bulky and not precise enough for extremely shallow DOF.

      • That small poínt ís only for líve víew.

        • Michael

I do not mean live view focus. Compare large and rectangular point on D750 and neat and square point on d5/d500.

          • Oh ok. I thought the new smaller focussing point which they came up with.

  • Francesco Panuello

Don’t you have any rumors regarding the 200-400? thanks
