First rumored Nikon 1 V4 camera specifications

Here are the first rumored Nikon 1 V4 camera specifications:

  • 22.6 MP (the V3 was 18.4MP)
  • Fully swivel LCD screen
  • Faster AF
  • To be announced in Q1 2016

Update: after some additional research, I believe the V4 specs listed above are wrong, especially the sensor’s MP count. Sorry about that, I will try to get more reliable info. The V4 will most likely have the same 20.8MP sensor as the J5.

Expect the prices of the Nikon 1 V3 model to start falling in the next few months (currently “only” $100 off).

Zeiss to announce 6 new Milvus lenses for Nikon DSLR cameras

There are 6 new Zeiss Milvus full frame lenses with manual focusing for Nikon DSLR cameras listed at B&H and Adorama. There is still no official release from Zeiss, but you can get the technical specs here:

“V Nikon” and “C Nikon” trademarks registered

At the end of July 2015 Nikon registered two new trademarks – “C Nikon” and “V Nikon“. From the trademark’s descriptions it seems that these will most likely be for new software packages/solutions (update – maybe V is for View NX and C for Capture NX):

C Nikon is described as:

” Software program for use in digital photography, to provide an image-editing, printing, browsing, exporting, sharing through social media and cloud-based file sharing services, sending by e-mail and slideshow environment for digital images; medium recorded software program for use in digital photography, to provide an image-editing, printing, browsing, exporting, sharing through social media and cloud-based file sharing services, sending by e-mail and slideshow environment for digital images including CD-ROMs, optical discs, magnetic discs and magnetic optical discs; Digital cameras” (source)

First Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6E lens review now online

Few days ago I reported that the new Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6E lens is already shipping in Asia. The first review of the lens is already available online at digineff.cz (Google translation) and includes full resolution sample photos.

According to B&H and Amazon, the Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6E lens will start shipping in the US on September 17th.
