Photojojo now sells in their online store an adapter that will let you attach Nikon lenses to an iPhone 4. The kit costs $190 $249 and includes an aluminum case, SLR lens adapter and UV filter. Two loopholes on each side lets you attach a camera strap. The case has also a tripod mount thread.
There were some chatter last year that Nikon may bring back to life their underwater Nikonos product line. Tetsuro Goto (Director of Laboratory R&D at Nikon Japan) had this to say in an interview with Focus-Numerique: “personally I think the Nikonos reborn in the future”.
Trademarkia lists the Nikonos trademark as expired as of 08/22/2008 which probably means that Nikon has no plans of a new digital underwater product line:
The Nikonos trademark was registered back in 1967.
This is a list of lenses scheduled to be announced by Nikon in the near future (not necessary in 2011):
Today the Nikon D700 is 3 years old (announced on July 1st, 2008). Happy Birthday D700!
A quick look at Nikon’s website confirms that the D700 is currently the oldest DSLR camera in their lineup (even the already replaced D90 was announced after the D700). It is still hard for me to believe that a D700 replacement will not be announced till 2012… this is one of the cases where I hope I am wrong 🙂 Anyway, the D700 is still great camera and it will be for years to come.
