Today Nikon released a minor firmware update that has to do with the time zone settings for almost all of their current cameras:
The following change was introduced in the above firmware updates: “The SETUP MENU > Time zone and date > Time zone display now shows only the names of major cities in the currently selected zone.”
For a limited the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED lens is $359.96 off or 20% off at Amazon only (shipped and sold by Amazon).
Update – the lens is now sold out and is expected to be in stock again on June 11 (the price is still 1,439.99).
B&H and Adorama still list the lens at the full MSRP of $1,796.95. This is a good price considering that the new Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR lens is $2,396.95. Best Buy has matched the price of the lens.
In the past Amazon has randomly reduced selected Nikon prices for a day or two.

Nikon has announced one camera (D850) and two lenses (70-300mm and 180-400mm) in the past 12 months. The only good news here is that they currently have five registered and not-yet-announced cameras – more than any other brand. Here is an updated recap of what to expect next from Nikon:
