A new Nikon camera was registered today at the Indonesian Communications Agency POSTEL under the code name N16D3. We also still have the N1546 and N1610 cameras that have been registered for a while and are not yet officially announced. Basically, we are expecting three new cameras from Nikon in the next few months.
Update: the Nikon Coolpix AW130 and P900 cameras are made in Indonesia.

Astro-landscape time lapse photography by Jason Chu (Facebook | 500px | Instagram)
Greetings [NR] readers, my name is Jason Chu (otherwise known as “theinfinitypoint” on Disqus) and I’ve been a reader of Nikon Rumors for a very long time. Today I want to share with everyone some of the work I’ve created with my Nikon cameras, specifically my astro-landscape time lapse videos shot at astronomical observatories (videos are below). Being a Hawai`i-based astronomer, I have special access to the world’s leading ground-based observatories on the mountain of Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawai`i. While I would love to discuss my astronomical research and what sort of data we collect, use, and analyze, that would make this post too long!

Panoramic photo of Mauna Kea at sunset as seen from neighboring volcano Mauna Loa, showing its gradual slopes, and the clouds far below its summit. The shadow of Mauna Kea can be seen rising on the very right side. Side note: I have many, many, many more awesome photos of Mauna Kea that I’d love to show, but I’ll have to defer them to a future guest post 🙂

Imaging Resource published their interview with Kenji Tanaka (Senior General Manager Digital Imaging Group, Sony Corp.) and it is their understanding that Sony will no longer provide other manufacturers with some of their sensors/technologies:

The Nikon 85mm f/1.8G lens is currently selling on Amazon for $439.95 – this is $40 off compared to the full price of $476.95. The lens is shipped and sold by Amazon. In the past few months Amazon has been quietly discounting Nikon products for a few days and then bringing the price back to normal.

As I already reported earlier today, here are the pre-order links for the new Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art lens:
Shipping will starts on April 25, 2017. Additional coverage for the Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art lens can be found here.
