Some Nikon D3x info (updated)

Update: this one got busted pretty fast – this is an old dpreview parody post – see comments for more details (thanks Dan).
According to Digitalfreak, Nikon D3x should bring us:
  • FX 38.7 megapixels
  • based on the D3 body
  • new sensor: TIMOS (Time Interpolated Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor)
  • sensor pixel pitch: 2.59um
  • multiple cropping options (including custom)
  • same price as the D3

Nikon D90 kit price: $1299.99, you can almost order it

Eyewitness report:
I have some D90 info. I work for Circuit City. While checking our DSLR
inventory I noticed that the Nikon D90 with an 18-105mm VR lens was listed as an
active SKU in our system. The price came up at $1299.99. I
started a ticket and it was actually letting me special order the camera. The
Web ID for the camera is NIK D90KIT18105VR. I don’t know if this will stay in
the system but anyone should be able to special order a D90 from a Circuit City
store using that SKU if it doesn’t change.

That’s it folks. D90 is not a myth!
Don’t order it online yet – I tried already, it does not work.

Nikon 70-200 mm

I am not going to mention the country this came from, but this is the rumor I got:
“I can confirm the rumor about the new 70-200.
I had a lunch with the vice-president from Nikon Imaging a few months ago and he confirmed to me that there
will be a new 70-200 with nano crystal coating later this year.
So I guess (yes, only guess) that the new one will be presented just before or on Photokina.
From what I know, the lens will become available in the 4th quarter of this year.”
