I have no price reference for France, but I think they are going up as well – this is the new Nikon France price list for February 2009.
Update: for comparison purposes here is the price list for September 2008.

Update: Just got a similar report from a second source! Get your lenses today from Adorama, Amazon, B&H, Calumet or Ritz while you still can (use those links if you want to support NR – same price to you). I am suspecting that many products will be out or stock until the new prices kick in.

I hate to cause any panic, but I have a reason to believe that this information is accurate. I am sure we will have several other sources confirming this very soon.
Nikon D400 is now listed as a check box in the members update section at Sportsshooter (you have to be a member to see this page):
If you have followed our coverage on previous releases, you will notice that we are starting to see the same pattern – magazine leaks, specs, etc. Could we see the Nikon D400 even before PMA? Stay tuned to find out.
Sigma announced the suggested retail price of the new Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM lens: USD 899.00 (£799.99 in the UK). This lens was announced at Photokina last year and is now available for pre-order (estimated shipment within 1 to 2 months):
As previously reported, Nikon UK raised their prices today. The new price list can be found here. Some examples submitted by a reader:
I also got an unconfirmed report that Interfoto in Norway will increase their prices on January 15th.
Nikon prices in Indonesia are up by 20% since last October (also unconfirmed).
Any other Nikon price increase reports from around the world?
Nikon D400 article in a Russian magazine. Can someone translate the text please? Thanks!

Update: I just updated the price watch section and I noticed a slight price increase across the line compared to the last update two weeks ago. This could be just a post-holidays adjustment.
Nikon price increase is already a fact in Canada, UK and Australia. Is the US next?
I do not have any information for now, this is just a pure speculation and an analysis based on the currency exchange rates from the past 12 months:

CAD vs JPY
107 -> 75 = aprox. -30%

GBP vs JPY
212 -> 138 = aprox. -35%

AUD vs JPY
100 -> 60 = aprox. -40%
The above three countries already got a price increase. Here is the USD vs JPY graph:

USD vs JPY
110 -> 90 = aprox. -20%
Do you see the pattern here? The percentage drop in the US is not so big compared to other countries, but it is still significant. Is the US next for a price hike if the USD falls to -30% vs the JPY? Is 30% drop the threshold? Is there a reason why Nikon should NOT raise prices in the US? What do you guys think?
