Nikon D800 sample available on flickr

An update on my previous post: several readers noticed that Shinji Watanabe’s flickr stream (NSFW) contains at least one image without EXIF data with a maximum/original resolution of 7360 x 4912 (just like those D800 samples):

Note that some of the images were taken with a Hasselblad H3D-39 that can go “only” up to 5412 x 7212. The image in question has a resolution of 7360 x 4912.

I bet that some of those were taken with a Nikon D800 camera.

I also bet that they will be removed in 3, 2, 1…

“Tatouage” could be another short movie shot with Nikon D800

Tatouage short movie Nikon D800

"Tatouage" shot with a Nikon D800?

Few days ago the Japanese photographer and director Shinji Watanabe uploaded a picture on flickr that was probably taken with Nikon D800 (see EXIF data at the bottom of this post). The picture was removed few hours later but on his website Shinji Watanabe wrote about an upcoming 30 minute short movie called “Tatouage” shot with a Nikon camera that is supposed to premier during the CP+ show in Japan next week – here is the schedule:

Part 1: February 9th, 1:15 p.m. to 2:05 p.m.
Part 2: February 9th, 3:05 p.m. to 3:55 p.m.

My guess is that just like the motorcycle movie shot in Chicago“Tatouage” will be another production to show and promote the video capabilities of the new Nikon D800.

Update: as several readers have mentioned the comments section, Shinji Watanabe’s flickr stream contains at least one image with a maximum/original resolution of 7360 x 4912 (just like those D800 samples):

The new Lexar 1000x PRO CF cards will be shipping in 7-14 days

B&H has updated their website with the new super fast (x1000) Lexar CF cards – they should start shipping in 7-14 days, just in time for the D800. The prices range from $138 for 16GB to $730 for the 128GB versions.

The upcoming Nikon D800 is not expected to support XQD cards like the D4. With a 36MP sensor and improved video recording capabilities, those x1000 Lexar CF cards are probably going to be your best choice for the D800.
