Nikon Japan reports short supply/strong demand for the retro-styled Nikon Df DSLR camera:
The “Df”, announced after the date of November 5, 2013, state that received a reservation more than expected, production can not keep up with your order has continued. I am sorry to have to apologize for the inconvenience to our customers. Because we will work to continue intensive production, so thank you for your understanding.
That’s not really the case in the US where the Df is currently in stock in all major retailers. In the US the Df is even part of the current Nikon instant rebate program that is set to expire in two days (December 14th).

Check out this Nikon FA limited edition gold film camera listed on eBay for $12,000. The camera has never been used, it’s plated with 24K gold and decorated with lizard skin. Only 2000 pieces were produced. There are also several cheaper FA gold listings priced between $1000-$2000. Additional images and information:

Nikon Japan issued a warning about the semi-soft case CF-DC6 for not fitting properly on the Nikon Df camera. Nikon will replace the defective cases for free. I have not seen any CF-DC6 cases in US stores except on eBay where it sells for around $300. In Europe the price seems to be lower (159 EUR)

The Phottix Strato TTL flash trigger for Nikon cameras that was announced at the 2012 Photokina show is now shipping and is currently in stock. More information after the jump:

The Nikon 1 AW underwater mirrorless camera was announced on September 19th, started shipping on October 14th and was in stock on October 28th. Today the AW1 is still hard to find and is currently out of stock at Amazon and Adorama while B&H has very limited availability of only few configurations.

Because of Nikon’s strict price enforcing in the US, we hardly get any good deals on cameras and lenses. There is a new low price on refurbished Nikon D7000 cameras: $549 from rakuten.com (the former buy.com) with free shipping. This deal is valid till 12/12/2013.
