Only three new Nikon KeyMission action cameras will be announced today

A quick last minute update: today Nikon will introduce only the three new KeyMission action cameras and nothing else – no new cameras and no new lenses. I expect Nikon to have another announcement before the end of the year – maybe for the PhotoPlus show in October.

Nikon Df camera listed as discontinued at authorized dealer

I am not sure if this is a mistake, but the Nikon Df camera is listed as discontinued at BuyDig (an authorized US dealer). All Df versions seems to be in stock at other retailers. I expect a new “Df-like” camera to be announced for Nikon’s 100th anniversary in 2017.

This lens patent could be for the Nikon Coolpix P900 camera replacement

Nikon has a new patent for a 4.3-357mm f/2-6.5 VR lens designed for cameras equipped with 1/2.3″ sensor (24-2000mm equivalent). There is a good chance that this lens could be used in the replacement of the popular Nikon Coolpix P900 camera ($529). Remember the Canadian nature photographer Brad Hill who correctly “predicted” the Nikon D500 camera (see this post)? Well, he is now saying that Sigma will announce a new flagship 500mm f/4 DG OS HSM Sports lens next week at Photokina and I do believe him.
