Apple’s RAW Compatibility Update 3.13 released with support for Nikon D3200 and D800E

Apple released Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 3.13 that adds RAW image compatibility for the Nikon D3200 and D800E to Aperture 3 and iPhoto ’11. You can download the update from Apple’s support page.

Nikon D700 firmware update v1.03, ViewNX v2.3.2 released

The previously reported firmware update 1.03 for Nikon D700 is now official. The new A1.03, B1.02 version contains only one fix: An issue that, in some very rare cases, caused images to be extremely under-exposed has been resolved. Nikon also released ViewNX 2.3.2 with only one fix:

Will Nikon enter the video camera business?

In an interview with TechRadar a Nikon UK spokesperson said that they are not a broadcast company yet, but they are exploring video options for the future: “We’re not a broadcast company – yet. We’re still listening and as our relationship between third parties grows, hopefully more features will be incorporated in the future.”

Nikon to start producing pharmaceutical and cosmetic products?

Nikon Corporation added an amendment to their Articles of Incorporation to “Manufacture and sale of pharmaceuticals, quasi-pharmaceutical products and cosmetics“. Few months ago Fujifilm also announced the introduction of their own skin care/beauty product line – maybe this is the new trend for Japanese camera manufacturers?
