Newegg is an authorized US Nikon dealer and I have no idea how they can offer this discount since Nikon controls all promotions and pricing. My guess is that they will have to cancel the coupon code soon.

Update: most of the eligible items are already sold out and this is why the coupon code may no longer work on certain products. This was a legit deal while it lasted.

Tamron SP 135mm f/1.8 VC Di lens coming next?

A reader sent me the above picture of what appears to be a brochure for a new Tamron SP 135mm f/1.8 VC lens. If true, the official announcement will most likely be in September for Photokina.

Tamron recently announced four new Di lenses with VC designed for DSLR cameras.

Update: my sources confirmed that this Tamron SP 135mm f/1.8 VC Di lens brochure is fake.

The new AF-P Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G DX lenses works only with three Nikon DSLR cameras

The new AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G lenses (announced in early January, 2016) are compatible only with three Nikon DSLR cameras: D3300, D5300 and D5500. The lenses will not autofocus on older DX models like the D3100 or D7000. It is not clear for now if Nikon will issue firmware update for older cameras – just recently they released a firmware update to make the lenses compatible with the D3300. This probably also explains why the new AF-P lenses are not listed on Nikon USA website and are not yet available for pre-order. Both lenses are already available on Amazon UK.

→ Two new interviews with Nikon executes were published at Imaging-resource and Dpreview. As usual I did not find anything interesting worth reporting here.

→ A reader made a full list of dust and waterproof Nikon lenses (with rubber sealing mount, Google translation available here). He checked the user manuals for those lenses to confirm which of them have a rubber gasket.
