Nikon D500 lens kit is currently in stock *UPDATED*

As I reported last week, a second wave of Nikon D500 cameras has reached US stores. The D500 lens kit is currently in stock at B&H. It seems that even the second shipment was not sufficient to fulfill all existing pre-orders. Future D500 shipments could be delayed even further due to the impact of the recent Kumamoto earthquakes in Japan.

Update #1: B&H sold out, but now Amazon has the Nikon D500 lens kit in stock.
Update #2: Nikon D500 body only now in stock on eBay from an authorized dealer.
Update #3: ‪‎Nikon‬ ‪‎D500‬ body only now in stock again on eBay from another authorized dealer.

Update #5: a new D500 shipment is expected late next week.

Great news: you can now repair some Nikon grey market cameras at third party US repair facilities

The D7100, D610, D800, D810 and D4s DSLR cameras were recently added to Nikon’s list of bodies that are authorized for repair in the USA by Nikon authorized third party repair centers. This means owners of grey market bodies now have a means for servicing them in the USA. A reader already checked with the two largest repair centers (APS and C.R.I.S.) and confirmed that both have been supplied with all the necessary info/certification/parts for work on the mentioned models and that both will work on grey market bodies. There are currently 8 centers authorized to work on the D4s and 7 on the D810 – you can see a listing of them on this Nikon page (first select category, model and then you see the list of available repaid facilities):

Can’t find any good news in the latest Nikon financial results

Nikon released their financial results for the 2016 FY (ending in March 2016). I could not see any positive signs except the fact that the company had a 20% higher overall net income compared to the previous year.
