Another Nikon price increase coming next month?


There are some reports online that another Nikon price increase for Europe and Canada will be coming next month (April).

Price increases are happening with almost all brands in the photography industry.

In a recent interview Nikon executives mentioned that the company is planning to concentrate on mid-to-high-end DSLR and mirrorless cameras wich will most likely demand higher prices in the future.

Nikon already had several price increases last year.

New Nikon D500 firmware update coming at the end of March to address Snapbridge issues with iOS 10.2.1


After the latest SnapBridge update, Nikon released the corresponding firmware updates only for the D3400 and D5600 cameras but not for the D500. The D500 firmware update should be released at the end of March according to this email response from Nikon tech support email (the latest version of Snapbridge is reportedly not working with the D500 and iOS 10.2.1):

With the on-going discussion about the future of Nikon, let’s not forget that the current cameras and lenses are great tools. I surely hope Nikon gets back on the right track, and in the meantime I spend my time out in the field with my fantastic Nikon gear, you should too! Anyhow, long story short.

Over the past three years I have been to Antarctica two times. One time as a photography tourist, on board the smallest vessel operating in Antarctica, and one time as an expedition guide and photographer, on board the biggest vessel operating in Antarctica. Before embarking to Antarctica, I have visited both south Argentina and Chile.
