New Nikon Coolpix A1000 camera registered online *UPDATED*


Nikon registered a new Coolpix A1000 camera with bluetooth.com. The new model will have built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This could either be the long-rumored P900 replacement or a Coolpix A300 replacement.

Update: the upcoming A1000 will be a replacement for the current Nikon Coolpix A900 camera. I completely forgot about this model:

Updatethe B&H listing shows that the speed of the new model is 9 fps where the old version supports only 7 fps:

New Nikon firmware updates for the D850, D750, D500, D7500, D7200, D5600, D5300, D3400, B500 and P900 cameras


Today Nikon released a minor firmware update that has to do with the time zone settings for almost all of their current cameras:

The following change was introduced in the above firmware updates: “The SETUP MENU > Time zone and date > Time zone display now shows only the names of major cities in the currently selected zone.

The Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8G ED lens is now $360 off


For a limited the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED lens is $359.96 off or 20% off at Amazon only (shipped and sold by Amazon).

Update – the lens is now sold out and is expected to be in stock again on June 11 (the price is still 1,439.99).

B&H and Adorama still list the lens at the full MSRP of $1,796.95. This is a good price considering that the new Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR lens is $2,396.95. Best Buy has matched the price of the lens.

In the past Amazon has randomly reduced selected Nikon prices for a day or two.

Recap: what to expect next from Nikon?
