Back in May I reported that RED is suing Nikon for infringing on its video compression patents.
The latest update is that Nikon is denying RED’s accusations and will be fighting the lawsuit:
The Nikon NIKKOR Z 28-75mm f/2.8 lens is currently listed for sale on Amazon for $754 (the regular price of the lens is $996):
The lens is being shipped by Amazon Japan, so I assume it is a grey market product (meaning no US warranty).
