Amazon US has the D90 body?

Nikon D90 body only is already available in Europe and Australia. Yesterday it start showing up in Amazon US. My guess is that those bodies taken from disassembled lens kits. Some of them are listed as used for $999.95 and the new one is listed for $1198.95. Note that those are sold by third parties and not from Amazon direct.

Nikon D3x for sale again (updated)

Update: I just called 42nd Street Photo and they told me on the phone that they do have the Nikon D3x and the Nikon D90 body only in stock. I told the rep that the Nikon D3x was not released yet and he confirmed again that they have it. I would not trust them with my credit card in order to find out.

42nd Street Photo claims to have Nikon D3x in stock:

They also claim to have Nikon D90 body only in stock. I will call them today. If this is another scam to attract traffic (99% sure it is), I suggest we boycott this store – remember just visiting their site doesn’t mean anything unless you make a purchase.

First NR picture from Photokina

No new rumors today, time to have some fun @ Photokina: If you are at the show go ahead and take a funny picture in front of the Nikon booth with NR or NikonRumors.com written on a piece of paper, hat, T-shirt, your forehead… be creative but don’t do anything illegal. You can also send us some “serious” eyewitness reports, pictures of products, anything really… we will get a booth next time.

Thanks A.

NPS claims no new announcement on November 8th

Last week NPS Holland sent out an email about an event on November 8th. A few hours later they sent another email stating that the initial message should not interpreted as a new product announcement. The surprise would be a “world famous” speaker. We have eyes and ears at this event.

Oops @ dpreview

Update: I got the screenshot – I guess dpreview refers to the D40, D40x and D60 as “Mini Nikons”. False alarm.
I personally did not see this snafu but here is a report form a reader:
Hi,
Not sure what may need be inferred but it seems dpreview had a small lip-up this morning. The site Publish an article on some new Pentax light lenses in the following url:

However the subject of the article mentioned special new macro Tamron lens for  “Mini-Nikon” ???? Could this have something to do with MX format (M for mini)?

The error was corrected about an hour later and subject changed to describe correct contents of post (pentax lenses).

More? (updated)

Call me crazy, but I think there will be more (personal opinion). Nikon has not updated their lens catalog yet. Usually they do this at the time of the announcement – this is why their web sites go down at midnight (US eastern time) every time when there is a new product.
Nikon USA, I know you are reading this – you have few mistakes on the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G site. Email me if you cannot find them.

It is funny that Nikon used a different 50mm 1:1.4 lens image on their Photokina site.

I will also change my opinion about Nikon reps!

Update: Leica pulled another rabbit out of their hat: DSLR like camera with 37 megapixels and 30x45mm sensor (maybe Otoji was a Leica rumor). They just announced a bunch of new products last week, so multiple announcements are not impossible. Check LeicaRumors.com for more.
