I know there is someone out there with a D400 prototype in their hands. PLEASE SEND US A SIGN! (just like with the D90). Maybe a small leak from Nikon? On ways to send anonymous tips click here.

Here is the rumor, and few online stores already raised their prices: B&H now sells the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM Lens for $439 (was $399). It seems that Amazon still has the old prices – the above lens sells for $375. Consider yourself warned.
Sony A800:
If true, this sensor could be the base of the D400. This could also mean that we may not see the D400 at PMA, since last time with the D3x Sony got few months lead before Nikon can release a camera in the same class.
I missed that in today’s firmware releases. And nobody noticed it before?

Nikon told us about this update few weeks ago. Today the D3 got a new firmware:
D700 got an update as well:
Two hints submitted by readers (thanks!):
For several days now the reputable German dealer dnet24.de (official Nikon dealer) – states at their D300 body only page “sol. Vorrat reicht” = “as long as stock lasts” – why would they have limited number of D300 in stock?
Another site is selling a screen protector for D400 (the image says Canon?).
If you thought the D3x price was high, it can always get higher:
“Nikon has jacked the price of its new high-end DSLR to £6000 ($8800) in the UK due to the slinky-like fluctuations of currency exchange rates. The original UK list price, announced back in December, was a mere £5500 ($8050). That’s almost a 10% rise in one month.”
