Nikon has registered a new battery pack N1936 with the Russian certification authority. The upcoming Nikon Z8 camera is rumored to have a fully functioning vertical grip, but it is not clear yet if the N1936 will be it.

First indications of the rumored Nikon camera with 60MP and 16-bit NEF files

Nikon is rumored to introduce a new lossy compressed RAW codec to reduce the file size in their next high-megapixel camera. Here is a leaked screenshot from a Nikon manual that confirms the already rumored new camera with 60MP (9552×6364) sensor (Nikon Z9?) and the new 16-bit NEF files:

Nikon CEO confirmed a new mirrorless camera equivalent to the D5 is coming

According to Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, a newspaper specialized for Japanese manufacturing, Mr. Umadate, Nikon’s new CEO, said Nikon is going to launch a flagship mirrorless camera which is equivalent to the Nikon D5. He didn’t mention when they will launch the new model. Here is the translated quote:
