What to expect next from Nikon:
Nikon Z mirrorless cameras
- Nikon will announce a new APS-C mirrorless camera in the first half of 2021 (I assume it will be positioned below the current Z50 model – maybe a Z30?) – this model will most likely come without an EVF. I do not expect any other cameras to be introduced in the first 6 months.
- NikonZ9 mirrorless camera with 8k video and 60MP sensor (to compete with the Sony a1). Some websites report a 45MP sensor for this model – I personally don’t think this makes any sense since the Z7II already has a 45MP sensor. The official announcement is expected in the second half of the year.
Nikkor Z lenses
- Nikkor Z 24-105mm f/2.8-4 S
- Nikkor Z 100-400mm f/4-5.6 VR S
- Nikkor Z 400mm f/2.8
- Nikkor Z 200-600mm
- Nikkor Z 105mm macro
Nikon F-mount
- Two new Nikon DSLR cameras and “several” F-mount lenses coming in 2021
- Nikon D850 replacement is still expected in 2021 (Nikon may delay or cancel any F-mount products at anytime given the latest surge of mirrorless)
