Conference: Oct. 25 – Oct. 28, 2017
Expo: Oct. 26 – Oct. 28, 2017

If you cannot attend the show, you can watch Nikon ambassadors live here:

Friday, October 27th 10:15 am - 4:45 PM EST

As of today, I have no reliable information on any new Nikon product announcements, but I love surprises (see what's expected next).

Here is Nikon's schedule for the PPE 2017:

    Anxiously waiting for FF mirrorless

Yeap, can’t wait to see what they bring.
It all points to 2018 in mirrorless for Nikon and canon, but it will help spelling something about what is coming so people do not jump ship. Oct 25 Sony introduces another FF mirrorles camera, upgrading their product A7iii or A7siii.

Early 2028 is ok for me, by need to choose my next camera by early spring

A camera that comes out after I have purchased my next camera will not do me much good

        • Max

Lol yes. My serious guess is that Nikon will announce a mirrorless ff camera by early to mid 2019.

        • ZoetMB

I think 2028 is too long to wait. But if it is 2028, I think the camera might have to carry me.

  • Mike Gregory

    5 women
they must have heard all the noise hahahahahahaha

    • ZoetMB

Maybe they’re just good photographers. hahahahahaha

    • akkual

All of those women were Nikon ambassadors even before the D850 incident.

      • saywhatuwill

Wait, what? Did I miss something? There was a big bruhaha over women not being ambassadors for the D850?

  • Eric Calabros

The fact that you get surprised very very rarely tells us that there will be no announcement.

    • ZoetMB

Exactly. In fact, I can’t remember a single PhotoExpo where there was something new from Nikon that we didn’t already know about. I’m sure most of the action at the Nikon booth will be people trying out a D850, even though they can also do that at most camera stores with a far smaller crowd. In fact, I would bet that there’s little to no coordination between Nikon Japan and Nikon USA in regards to this particular show.
      —-
Canon and Sony have done tech services at this show. A section of their booths feature technicians working behind glass on cameras and lenses. Nikon has never done that. I always find it a bit intriguing to watch them work and I think it sends a message that they’re going to support you.

The photographer sessions in the Nikon booth are always well attended — it’s rare I can get a seat. Of course, they’re well attended in the Sony and Canon booths as well. Canon takes the largest booth at the show: 7700 sq ft. Sony and Nikon each take 6400 square feet. Then Fuji (4800 sq ft),Olympus (3000), Epson (2500), Tamron (2000), Manfroto (1600) and Sigma (1500). Everyone else is pretty much in a very small booth. It’s not that big a show – there’s only about 200 exhibitors. Adobe Stock is at the show but not the application division. I’m pretty sure they’ve been there every other year. I think if Adobe came to the show and offered a subscription discount, they could have gotten a lot of photographers to upgrade from CS6 or earlier.

      • I still expect one more lens to be released this year, so we shall see.

        • Allan

          18-xxx? 🙂

          • I was told that a new 200-400 is coming, but maybe it is too early for it.

            • ZoetMB

What’s interesting is that the 200-400G, the 70-200G 2.8 and the 70-300G have all been out-of-stock for a while. I wonder if they’ve been discontinued, but just not officially. There are E versions (although higher priced) of the latter two, but nothing yet for the 200-400.

            • Yes, I think also there was a surge in buying new Nikkor lenses after the D850 was released.

PDN used to put the show on in San Francisco. I loved going to it. Pity it’s only in New York now.

  • Vince Vinnyp

Would love to see an SB500/600 sized speedlight with built in radio AWL receiver.

  • Michiel953

    Afraid so.
