Nikon D7000 listed as discontinued in Australian retailer

Nikon D7000 discontinued

The retailer Bing Lee, who has a significant presence in Australia, lists the Nikon D7000 as “discontinued and no longer available for sale” on their website. I expect more stores to start marking the D7000 as discontinued in the upcoming weeks/months as we get closer to its replacement. The D7000 is currently on sale with a $300 instant […]

Nikon AF Fisheye-Nikkor 16mm f/2.8D lens listed as “end of life”

Nikon-AF-Fisheye-Nikkor-16mm-f2.8D-lens

Two Romanian stores (fotohobbyshop and f64) have listed the AF Fisheye-Nikkor 16mm f/2.8D lens as “end of life”. The lens is still listed as current on Nikon USA website. Romanian stores have been accurately publishing information on soon-to-be-discontinued products in the past (Nikon D3x and D3s).

Nikon SB-400 Speedlight discontinued

Nikon-SB-400-flash

The retail chain Mediamarkt in Germany currently has the Nikon SB-400 Speedlight listed as discontinued in their inventory system. In the past four years Nikon did update the SB-600 (with the SB-700) and SB-800 (updated twice already with the SB-900 and SB-910), but the SB-400 remained untouched since its introduction back in 2006. There is a very good chance that […]

Nikon D5100 next to be discontinued?

nikon-d5100-dslr-camera

Few days ago Nikon Germany sent out an email to retailers stating that the Nikon D5100 is no longer available for order. The exact word used was “abkündigung” which translates to “discontinuation”. The D5100 was announced on April 5th, 2011. FYI: the D3100 was announced in August 2010 and was already replaced by the D3200 in April this […]

Nikon D7000 listed as discontinued on Amazon.de

Nikon D7000 discontinued

The Nikon D7000 listing on amazon.de is marked as “discontinued by manufacturer”. I don’t know if this is a mistake or the first nail in the D7000 coffin.

Nikon D700 is gone in the US

Nikon D700 discontinued

The Nikon D700 is already listed as discontinued at B&H and is out of stock at Adorama and almost every other major US retailer (Samy’s, OneCall, Cameta, Abe’s). You may be able to find some D700 at Amazon from third party retailers. J&R indicates on their website that they have some on order, but I […]

Nikon D3x now officially discontinued

Nikon-D3x-discountinued

I already mentioned that Nikon D3x is out of production and today Nikon Japan officially listed the camera as discontinued. Obviously the D3x and its price tag of $7999 doesn’t make any sense after the D800 announcement.
