The Nikon 85mm f/1.8G lens is currently selling on Amazon for $439.95 – this is $40 off compared to the full price of $476.95. The lens is shipped and sold by Amazon. In the past few months Amazon has been quietly discounting Nikon products for a few days and then bringing the price back to normal.

Nikon D4 sold out on Amazon in less than an hour, Nikkor 85mm f/1.8G lens still available for pre-order

Amazon is no longer accepting pre-orders for the Nikon D4. My guess is that they had a limited quantity that sold out in less than an hour. The new AF-S Nikkor 85mm f/1.8G lens is still available for pre-order.

Nikon D4 announcement in 3-4 hours

I believe Nikon will announce the Nikon D4, AF-S 85mm f/1.8G lens and probably the Nikon WT-5 wireless transmitter tonight, around midnight EST. I think the January 10th date on the leaked Wells Fargo article was a mistake.
