More Nikon rumors: new Nikkor PC-E 19mm tilt shift lens

As we get closer to Photokina, I start receiving more rumors about potential new products. A few days ago I got a hint about two new lenses: the 105mm f/1.4 I already reported today (announcement this week) and a new Nikkor PC-E 19mm tilt shift lens that will most likely be introduced around Photokina (September 2016).

Nikon has filed at least two patents for a Nikkor PC-E 19mm f/4 tilt-shift lens.

Nikon currently has three tilt shift lenses (24mm, 45mm and 85mm).

This week Nikon will announce a new AF-S Nikkor 105mm f/1.4E ED full frame N lens (with gold ring, without VR). The price is Japan including tax is expected to be ¥233,280 or around $2,100 (US prices are usually lower). The lens will start shipping on August 26th.

It’s 6:00am in downtown Yangon, Myanmar (Burma) and the people that are part of my travel photography group are complaining boisterously about the Monsoon rains that are in full force outside. They all want to stay in the hotel and wait it out, siting equipment concerns, wind, flooding, and so on.

From time to time I lead photography tours and teach groups around the SE Asia area when I need a break from the commercial and PJ photography world that is my life. This is just such a tour.
