An “exact mockup” of the back of the Nikon Z mirrorless camera based on a real picture

Here is an updated mockup of the back of the Nikon mirrorless camera based on a real leaked picture that I, unfortunately, cannot post online – the only note I will add is that the EVF bump/housing is slightly smaller/lower (click image for larger view):

Here are the details from my last post:

Delkin to launch a new line of “premium” XQD memory cards next week

As I already reported last year, Delkin will start selling XQD memory cards. The official announcement will be next week, on August 21st.

This is a good news since Lexar is not ready to start selling XQD memory cards and Sony is currently the only XQD manufacturer (ProGrade will not produce XQD memory cards).

Here is the leaked press-release:

Samyang to announce their first lens with autofocus for Nikon F-mount: AF 14mm f/2.8

Nokishita reports that Samyang will announce a new AF 14mm f/2.8 full frame lens with autofocus for Nikon F-mount (pictured above). The Canon version of the same lens is currently priced at $695. This will be Samyang’s first autofocus lens for Nikon. Samyang also has the AF 85mm f/1.4 EF lens for Canon EF mount which I assume will be also soon released for F-mount.

This new lens should not be a surprise for [NR] readers – I already reported about Samyang AF lenses for Nikon a few years ago.

First Nikon Z mirrorless camera report from somebody who actually used the camera

Here is an actual hands-on report from somebody who actually handled the Nikon Z mirrorless cameras last week in a closed-door event in Asia:

  • The Nikon Z6/Z7 have many similarities to the Sony’s 7 series
  • The new Z-mount is almost as large as medium format mount for some 6×6 SLR cameras
  • Handling and ergonomics are perfect
  • The Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7 have exactly the same body and use the same battery
  • The EVF is fixed
  • There are no scene modes
  • There is a green AUTO mode as well as PSAM and 3 user settings
  • Both 24-70 f/4 and 50 f/1.8 lenses have a very fast AF, on the test images there were some signs of vignetting when shooting wide open

And now a word about the last Nikon mirrorless camera teaser – some readers were disappointed, but we actually got confirmations for two major rumors I have already reported: the new Noct lens and the Z-Nikkor 24-70mm f/4 kit lens. Keep in mind that when the teaser videos were produced, Nikon did not know that some of the details will leak online. The return of the Noct is a BIG deal (at least for me).

Here are some screenshots from the last teaser video showing the upcoming Nikon Z-Nikkor 24-70mm f/4 mirrorless full frame kit lens (originally reported here):
