Sigma announced the shipping date for the new 70-200mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports lens for Nikon F-mount: February 22. The price of the lens is $1,499. For comparison, the latest Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8E version is now selling for $2,496.95 (with the current lens rebates).

Today Nikon released their Q3 financial results for the year ending on March 31, 2019:
“High-end camera sales was brisk thanks to the new ML launch, but fierce competitions in the shrinking entry/mid-range DSLR markets
suppressed the volume largely in addition with the initial cost, resulting in revenue/profit reductions.”

Nikon Japan issued another apology for the shortage of the latest Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR lens (see why – this is the second apology from Nikon for that lens):
Nikon is rumored to officially announce their new Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S full-frame mirrorless lens soon. My guess is that we will have the announcement before the CP+ show that starts on February 28th. BCN ranking published a new graph on the state of the full-frame mirrorless market in Japan from August 2018 to December 2018 (when the latest Nikon and Canon mirrorless cameras were announced). The sales for December 2018 are – Sony: 66.4%, Canon: 17.5%, Nikon: 16%.
