Today Nikon Japan confirmed what I reported a week ago – the new Nikkor Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S mirrorless lens will start shipping on October 30th, earlier than expected (the official Nikon press release mentioned November as the expected shipping date).
Nikon also has two new 112mm filters for the 14-24mm lens that will start shipping on October 30th.
NiSi also started selling their new 112mm Circular NC ND1000 filters for the Nikkor Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S lens.

The reason for the different Nikon Z8 and Nikon Z9 specifications I have been reporting in the past few months is very simple: there are several different prototypes being tested and it is way too early to have a concrete set of specifications more than a year before the official announcement. Currently, I think Nikon is testing (and has been testing for a while) five different high-end Z cameras with different specifications and I was trying to combine all rumored specs into one camera.
