Nikon announcement this week? (just a guess)

Canon will have a major announcement tomorrow (Setepmerb 14th). Nikon and Canon usually introduce new products just a few days apart, so I will not be surprised if Nikon pushes out a press release as well in the next few days. I do not have any specific intel, but the Nikkor Z 40mm f/2 and Nikkor Z 400mm f/2.8 lenses are expected soon. Of course, the Nikon Z9 is also coming, but I expect it later this year unless Nikon just officially releases the technical specifications and starts shipping a few months later.

New Nikon FTZ2 adapter confirmed

I can now confirm that Nikon is indeed working on a new Nikon FTZ2 adapter – I received multiple tips from reliable sources. The new adapter will have a re-designed body (probably without the bump at the bott0m) and this should avoid problems when mounting Z cameras on a tripod or when using underwater housings. I am not sure if the new adapter will be announced together with the Z9 camera. Stay tuned for more details.

Nikon could be working on a new FTZ2 adapter

I received a tip from a new source that Nikon is working on a new FTZ2 adapter (replacement for the current FTZ version). The reason I post this rumor online is because I think this is very plausible – since Nikon is still lacking some lenses in their Z lineup, they will want to make sure that every F-mount lens works as good as possible with the current Z cameras and especially tele-lenses on the upcoming Z9 camera.
