Sigma just dropped 3 new lenses

And to double our misery, Sigma just announced three (yes, 3) new lenses (we had this rumor few weeks ago, but it was not quite accurate):

  • Ultra-wide angle zoom, the 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM

  • A large aperture image-stabilized standard zoom, in the shape of the 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM

  • Image-stabilized version of its budget telezoom lens, the 50-200mm F4-5.6 DC OS HSM

They also announced that the previously released 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM and 24-70mm F2.8 IF EX DG HSM are now shipping.

No new DSLRs from Nikon at PMA

Eric from PhotographyBay is at the PMA show in Vegas and he got a chance to talk to a Nikon rep: “no new DSLRs from Nikon at PMA”.

No word on lenses, but after that news I am not holding my breath for anything. If you are at PMA and have something to report or a picture to send, contact me (I was also planning to be there and now I am glad I didn’t go).

New Nikon UK price list is out

The previously reported second price increase in the UK materialized today: here is the latest Nikon UK price list. For comparison, here is the January 2009 price list.

Nikon D40 officially discontinued

In addition to the email in Canada rumor, now Nikon Japan officially confirms that the D40 is discontinued:

Very small hint from Nikon USA

Nikon USA just removed the “New” label for the Nikon D90 from their website. Now only the Nikon D3x is labeled as “New”. Interesting timing… right before PMA.
