Nikon Control Beta 2

Version 2 of the Control Beta software for Nikon was just released by Stefan Hafeneger. The new version includes (click here for the old version):

  • Interval Shooting
  • Image Histogram
  • Full-screen Mode
  • Automatic Updates
  • Custom Save Folder
  • Configurable Filename

Feel free to send Stefan feature requests and bug reports. This is one of the best free app based on the Nikon SDK I’ve seen so far. I still believe that this type of applications have a huge potential and I will continue to support them on NikonRumors.

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G DX now in the US

Confirmed: Adorama started shipping the pre-ordered 35 mm Dx lenses today.

Update: Adorama will be shipping the 35mm f/1.8G DX pre-orders before the end of this week (today they got 500 pieces and have 575 pre-orders).

I received many emails today from US readers who already got their Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G DX and everyone seems to be very happy with the results so far. For everyone waiting for B&H: they are now accepting orders for the new 35mm DX lens.

The truck camera (XXL-FX format)

Wow! We got more than 200 comments on the FX vs. DX vs film topic and I don’t even know what triggered that discussion. There is no smoke today (no rumors), but to keep the fire going (and the discussion) here is a video that proves (at least to me) that the camera/format doesn’t really matter if you have a good, original idea – image imperfection is not always a bad idea:

Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX shipping in the US on March 12th?

UK release date should be March 13th according to this site.
