I got some information about an upcoming Nikon D5000 rebate in Australia (valid: June 15 – July 30, 2009):
D5000 Body Only : A$ 100
D5000 + any AFS lens: A$ 150
D5000 + 18-55VR +55-200VR: A$ 200
Nikon D5000 was released less than two months ago.
There is also a report that the Nikon D5000, D3 and D3x prices were reduced in Canada at the beginning of this month:
Nikon D5000 + 18-55VR +55-200VR for C$ 999 (C$ 60 less than the original price)

I received this tip two weeks ago and was waiting and hoping to receive some more information before posting, but unfortunately I did not get any – hopefully this post will spark a new wave of rumors:
Nikon D3 successor will appear on Autumn. It will still contain 12 mp but with dust removal system.
The tipster mentioned also the possibility of a 24 mm f/1.4 lens. I will not comment on the source, but I have a reason to believe that it is reliable.
I still have the feeling that the D300 and the D3 will be refreshed at the same time (they were released at the same time) with some minor updates (see potential Nikon D300s specs).

As reported last week, Nikon Canada has several pages (lenses) that are down for maintenance. One of them was the Nikkor 135mm f/2.0D lens:
Today the same lens is labeled as “Discontinued” @ B&H:
Adorama has this lens as “out of stock due to a back order situation”. Amazon has only 1 left in stock.
The question is: gone forever or being replaced? This lens was introduced back in 1995.
Update: The 300mm f4 lens is out of stock in all major retailers (see B&H, Adorama and Amazon).
Two more Nikon sites are down for maintenance in Canada: AF DC Nikkor D 135mm F/2 and AF DC Nikkor D 105mm F/2 (all of the down sites in Canada are for really old lenses).
nikon.de and nikon.at were down for several hours earlier today.
