Five Nikon products receive the “iF design award 2012”

Nikon instant rebate program extended

The Nikon instant rebate program in the US was extended till November 19th and it still includes pro lenses:

I was actually surprised that Nikon decided to extend the rebates after the expected shortages due to the flood in Thailand.

Nikon D700, D300s and other products no longer shipping in Japan

Nikon Japan announced today that it has stopped shipments of the following products in Japan as a result of a new Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law:

  • Nikon D300s and D700
  • Wireless Transmitter WT-3
  • Multi-Power Battery Pack MB-D10, MB-D200, MB-D80
  • Battery Chamber Cover BL-3 (※ 2)
  • Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL9

ViewNX 2.2.3

Today Nikon released ViewNX 2.2.3. The modifications in this version are:

  • Resolution was not correctly displayed.
  • When these images were opened or manipulated in another application, the application sometimes quit unexpectedly.

The making of this video

Another guest post on the making of this video from Cardiac Kid Productions:

I was asked to shoot and edit a music video for the Island/Def Jam band Parachute. It was to be a concert style music video for a song called “What I Know” off of their forthcoming (and since released) 2nd full length studio album “The Way It Was”. The band was on the tour with the Plain White T’s at the time and they were playing at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO. The small budget and requests from the venue to not bring in a camera “larger than a baby’s head” pointed me towards my Nikon D7000.

Teardown of the Nikon V1 camera
