Most of the rumored cameras and lenses I reported in the past two months were already announced (see this and this post). There will be more Nikon announcements in the January-February timeframe. In addition to the CES show, historically Nikon always introduces new products for the CP+ show in Japan (February 13-16, 2014). The Winter Olympics games (starting on February 6th, 2014) are another opportunity for Nikon to bring out some pro gear. Here is a recap of the expected new Nikon products for the next two months:
Nikon Middle East & Africa is talking about a new DSLR camera to be announced on January 17th, 2014 on their Facebook page:

In addition to the 35mm f/1.8G FX lens, during the CES in early January, Nikon is rumored to announce also a D3300 camera with a new Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G DX VRII lens. The new lens will be significantly smaller and lighter (less then 200 grams) when compared to the current model. It will feature a new collapsable barrel (like some 1 Nikkor lenses) and 7-blade rounded aperture.

Exploring the Tibetan plateau by bicycle has been one of the most rewarding yet tough experiences of my life. Throughout my years based in Chengdu, China I have made several solo extreme cycling trips across the provinces of Kham and Amdo and in each one of them, I had to endure the extreme weather of the region to be able to experience the soothing warmth of the Tibetan people. Averaging 5000 m (16400ft) of altitude, the Tibetan plateau is by nature an inhospitable land where I would spend several days, riding solitary tracks and getting across one after another and another incredibly high and cold mountain pass.
