
Nikon will finally announce a new Android based compact camera. The model name will probably be Coolpix S800 (or S800c) as you can see in this Indonesian Communication Agency filing (filed on July 31, 2012): The expected camera specs are:

Nikon announced a new FSB-UC bracket that will allow you to attach Coolpix cameras to Nikon fieldscopes and it will cost $249.95. Nikon already has an adapter for attaching DSLRs. Similar to the previous FSB-8 model, the new bracket will work also with the Fabre Photo EX portable stereoscopic microscope.

Those are the new Coolpix camera for the first half of 2012: S9300, S9200, S6300, S4300, S4200, S3300, S3200, S30, P510, P310, L810, L310, L26 and L25. The new P310 still doesn’t support NEF files.
