The Nikon Coolpix A camera is now listed as discontinued on the official Nikon Japan website (it was already removed from their online store few weeks ago). It seems that all the good deals are also gone: B&H still has few at $449, eBay prices start at $399.

The price of refurbished Nikon Coolpix A cameras dropped again this week to $299.95 at Adorama (was $329 last week). When announced, the Coolpix A costed $1.099.
This is not normal: a 2000mm handheld camera. Check out the attached pictures taken with the new Nikon Coolpix P900 and its 83x optical zoom (24-2000mm equivalent) – you can hardly see what’s in the frame before zooming in:
