I received multiple reports that various stores in the US (including Amazon, Ritz and some small dealers) are now shipping the Nikon D7000 body only to existing pre-orders. Here is the proof:

Just a quick update: Amazon has started shipping Nikon D7000 kit pre-orders, Adorama is expecting a shipment on Friday (they may get them even earlier).

I just received multiple reports that B&H has started shipping Nikon D7000 pre-orders today.

With the exception of Best Buy, none of the other major US retailers have received any Nikon D7000 yet and none of them have an estimated shipment date. In other words, Amazon is not the only one (at least they offered a discount). Some readers were able to get the Nikon D7000 from small/independent Nikon dealers:
