Nikon ready for another news on October 22

Google translation:

Svirrer rumors about an upcoming MX format from Nikon. One could suggest that it is true.  Anyway, the press bid to court with a fashion photographer Wednesday 22  October.

Engentlig there are two things. Either an MX format as the big brother to the FX format. So larger than full frame. But there may also be an upgrade of the D3 to D3x – with a sensor with 25 million pixels.

Either way, is the waiting end Wednesday 22  October.  Since the Nikon is ready to be unveiled by the model in question.  There is just tikket an invitation to the press in the door which reads as follows:

“Nikon now launching a new product, which will run until Wednesday 22 October in Steen Evald photo studio. The strategy of making all Danes – all from the Coolpix users to fashion photographers – to better photographers is also evident with the launch of this new product.
World news launched on 22  October in the well-known fashion photographer Steen Evald studio in Copenhagen.  Steen Evald is one of Denmark’s best photographers.  He has taken pictures of everything from King Hall to the famous Danes as Cecilie Frøkjær, Casper Christensen, Jarl Friis-Mikkelsen Morten resen and many others.  Nikon product specialist Thomas Lorenzen will introduce the new product for selected Nikon partners and the press. “

We estimate a brand new camera with a number of megapixels on the other side of 30 …

hm… Couldnt it just be the printer that Rockwell was talking about….?

“From coolpix users……” if its the MX doesnt it sound to be out of the coolpix groups pricerange and intrest?

What if the M in MX stands for mini? like the Olympus Micro 4/3rds, just a wild stab in the dark.

I’m on the Nikon Denmark press invitation list and got the invitation a few hours ago. It honestly doesn’t sound like the launch of a 30+ megapixel camera in my ears…

The intro reads “The strategy aiming at making all Danes – from CoolPix-users to fashion photographers – better photographers also shines through in this new product.”

Not exactly oozing of high-end, is it?

But, never say never. Could be that Nikon has something big up their sleeves.

    Good point ;)

    mini sensor with BIG pixel-density
big hit in the megapixel race I guess…

But not what I’m lloking for.
I wish they offeres a FX-D80/90 with great s/n-ratio and high dynamic range ;)

No MX or D3x, none of these would do anything to improve a ‘Coopix user’.

No printer either, a printer won’t improve your photography.

My info is a software suite that aims to get ‘amateurs’ ‘pro’ results, an automatic PP program with presets like ‘beach’, ‘portrait’, ‘landscape’ etc. combined with dust removal, auto red eye and whatever else you can think of.
Say a step between Capture NX and NikonView.

How boring (compared to a D3X)…

$50 says it’s a rumor. nikon don’t stay quiet until one weird random day and say “oh! we’ll announce something next week on the 22nd!”

joseph, my brother, says nikon is already done with DSLR market for the rest of the year then starts again next year. his words, “MX” doesn’t exist and D3X prototype is still around…

“making all Danes – all from the Coolpix users to fashion photographers – to better photographers is also evident with the launch of this new product.”

Anybody think maybe another flash to replace the recently discontinued SB-800? We know from the statement that it has to be a product usable with Coolpix and SLR’s, a new speedlight fits the bill.

This would also make sense going along with the hideous “Look Good In Pictures” sessions Nikon started.

IMHO the most plausible explanation yet.

What is it going to be on October 22nd?

This is what I am getting through the grapevine for the October 22nd release:A new Software suite, something in between NikonView and Capture NX2, in between Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. An advanced suite, that will take into account your ‘program’ setting on your Coolpix or low-end DSLR when processing pictures – something that so far no one does… It notices the camera presets and post-processes accordingly, giving you superior end results, making your results look more ‘pro’. This may be related to this recent and official Nikon news. There may be an OEM Nikon badged HP printer too, but no more …

Could it be a sensor stabilisation system? Sony makes this already and Canon hasn’t got it. And Nikon has “sony-connection” when it comes to sensors. It would be an advantage for all shooters – even those non-Danes ;-)
One more idea which is more “far out” – but maybe in the BIG announcement, related to the “upside-down” CMOS technology patented by sony which makes it possible to reach better area coverage and more pixcel integrated transistors (for different uses):
It could for excample be a no shutter camera – a transistor build into each pixel turns that pixel on and off individually (for precise exposure in individual pixels and super rapid frame rates and no shutter wear). Hey – that would be BIG…
