Nikon released new versions of the Camera Control Pro 2.20.0 and Wireless Transmitter Utility 1.5.3. List of modifications after the break.

New DF-GR1 grip for the Nikon Df camera announced in Japan

Nikon Japan announced a new DF-GR1 grip for Nikon Df camera. Shipping will start on February 5th, 2015 and the price will be ¥16,200 (around $130). There is no indications if the DF-GR1 will be available for sale outside Japan (still not listed at Nikon USA), but you can already buy one from eBay.

Third party manufacturers are already selling battery grips for Nikon Df cameras (now available also on Amazon).

Nikon D750 is being silently recalled

Nikon USA is quietly pulling D750 inventory out from retailers and will be replacing it with new cameras that do not have the reflection/flare issue. Currently Amazon doesn’t list the D750 at all on their website, Adorama is out of stock, while B&H is listing the camera as back-ordered. The new batch of D750 DSLRs is expected to reach retailers in early February.

Update: BestBuy also removed the D750 from their website.

Nikon announced four new Coolpix cameras in Europe and Asia

Last night Nikon announced four new Coolpix cameras:

I already reported on the Coolpix S3700, the other three camera were not mentioned on the Russian website novocert.ru – this means that Nikon may still announce new models that were not on my list for the CP+ show.

The new Coolpix cameras were not announced in the US.

Nikon Capture NX2 2.4.7 released with Yosemite support

Nikon released an updated version of the latest Capture NX2 2.4.7 with added Yosemite support. Please note that no other changes were made except compatibility with the latest MAC OS. Nikon Capture NX2 2.4.7 was already released in April, 2014.

Nikon Capture NX was discontinued last year and replaced by new NX-D (made by SilkyPix).

Samyang 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC lens for Nikon F mount announced, priced at $549

The new Samyang 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC lens is now officially announced. The Nikon version comes with an AE chip for focus confirmation and use of Auto/P/A/S/M shooting modes. B&H is currently taking pre-orders for $549 (the Nikon 135mm f/2 lens is $1,299). There is also a cinema version of this lens priced at $599 (135mm T2.2 VDSLR ED UMC). Adorama is also taking pre-orders.

Update: the first Samyang 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC lens review with sample images and comparison with other lenses is already out (see the Google translation).
