I took a few days off from [NR] to cover Leica’s big announcement this week, but now I am back. I still have no clue what Nikon will announce at the CP+ show in Japan at the end of February. The general list of expected products I did back in December is still valid, but I have no specific details. If anyone has some reliable information on what is coming next, you can contact me here.

Nikon DL cameras now rumored to start shipping in March


The Nikon DL cameras are now rumored to start shipping in March. There is still no official word from Nikon, but this timeframe makes sense: to show the DL models to the press at the CP+ show in late February and then start shipping in March right before the end of the Nikon financial year on March 31st in order to get some additional revenue (I think they will need it).

The US Presidential Inauguration that will take place on January 20th will be live-streamed by USA Today in 360-degrees with customized Nikon KeyMission 360 cameras:

“The stream will include multiple VR camera angles positioned at the Capitol, the National Mall, and along the inaugural parade route for a fully immersive experience. The cameras are provided by Nikon, who is working exclusively with USA TODAY NETWORK using a customized KeyMission 360 camera that allows the NETWORK to livestream in 360-degrees via in-camera stitching.”
