In the past few months, I have been going back and forth on the actual model name for the Nikon D810 replacement. I am now certain that the new camera will be called Nikon D850 and not Nikon D820. I am still not sure if the official announcement will be next week, but the fact that I got confirmation for the name, gives us hope. Stay tuned.

The new Nikon lens-only rebates are set to expire on July 29th.
1. The first NIKKOR lens: Aero NIKKOR 18cm f/4.5 (first appearance of NIKKOR trademark, an abbreviation of NIPPON Kogaku, as it appeared in 1932).
2. The Original Nikon – the first “Nikon” camera released in Japan, in March 1948.
Here is an interesting video from Duncan Dimanche who compared the price and weight of a basic full frame camera + lens set from the top four manufacturers (Sony, Nikon, Canon, and Pentax). The results may surprise you – the Nikon D750 body with five lenses was lighter and cheaper compared to a similar Sony a7 set (click for larger view):
Sigma Japan announced the shipping date for their new 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art lens for Nikon F-mount: July 28th. The lens seems to be already in stock in Europe (Amazon UK and Amazon DE). Additional information:
