I received this Nikon Z9/Z8 firmware roadmap covering the firmware updates that should appear in the future – I am not sure how legitimate this information is, so treat it as a rumor (you are on NikonRumor after all):
SmallRig x Mikevisuals launched a new tracking POV kit (extension arm kit for tracking shot). Here are the details:
New Nikon Z8/Z9 firmware updates are rumored to be released soon – most likely in December. One possible new feature that could be released is “pre-capture in RAW”. Pre-capture for JPG already exists in the Z9:
“How Pre-Release Burst works. Once Pre-Release Burst is set, you can confirm everything is working by looking into your viewfinder. At the bottom of the viewfinder there will be a ‘Pre’ symbol indicating Pre-Release Burst is activated. When you press the shutter half-way down (or press the AF-ON button if you’re set for back button focus), a green dot appears, indicating the camera is buffering images. When you take the shot, one second of images will be recorded before you actually hit the shutter.”
Stay tuned for updates.
Reminder: the Nikon Z8 camera is still now $300 off at Amazon | Adorama | B&H Photo.
The PCH Pro Shop located in Belgium posted this story on their Facebook page about the monster Nikon ED Nikkor 1200-1700mm f/5.6-8 P IF lens:
Godox launched Lux Cadet – a new retro camera flash that will be a perfect fit for the Nikon Zf and Zfc cameras. The price is $95 and pre-orders are now open. Additional information:
Phileweb (translated) published an interview with Mr. Takuhide Tsuji from Nikon Imaging Japan (Nikon received the 2023 DGP Imaging Overall Gold Award). The Nikon Zf is a big hit and it is still out of stock in many retailers:
Q: (Phileweb) Furthermore, the Zf, which won the Jury Special Award, was released on October 27th, but I hear that it is difficult to obtain. How do you analyze the background behind its explosive popularity?
A: (TsujiAlthough) Although quantitative data is not yet available, the Touch & Try event held at Nikon Plaza prior to the launch attracted young customers in their 20s and 30s, as well as those visiting Nikon Plaza for the first time. Many customers came to visit us, and we could feel the change firsthand, thinking, “This is a slightly different demographic than our usual customer base.”
Here is the interview recap from Digicame-info:
