Deal of the day: grey market Nikon D750 for $1,199.99

Nikon D750

Grey market Nikon D750 DSLR cameras are currently listed for sale on eBay for $1,199.99 (regular price: $1,696.95).

It has been a while since I’ve seen such a low price on the D750 – since November last year maybe?

BCN Ranking surprise: Nikon at the #1 spot in fixed lens cameras in Japan with 31% market share

BCN Ranking (now called BCN+R) published their digital camera ranking for the first half of 2018 and there is a surprise:

In the first half of 2018, Nikon got at the #1 spot in the fixed lens camera segment with a market share of 31% (Canon is now at the #2 spot). I am not sure how this happened since Nikon doesn’t really have any interesting Coolpix offering (except the P900), while Canon continues to produce high-end compact cameras. I can only imagine Nikon’s market share if they did not cancel the DL line.

With mirrorless cameras, Olympus was at the #1 spot in 2017 with 27.7%, but in the first six months of 2018 Canon is at the #1 spot with 30.1% market share. There is no mention of Sony or Fuji in the BCN+R article.

I could not find any DSLR market share data.

Here is a translated recap from our friends digicame-info (if anyone has a better translation, please post in the comments section):
