The latest Nikon Z6/Z7 CFExpress firmware update supports only the new Sony CFexpress Type B TOUGH memory cards (read and write speeds of up to 1700MB/s and 1480MB/s). A quick check with online retailers shows that the Sony CFexpress Type B TOUGH memory cards are expected to start shipping next week, on December 25.

Nikon just released (as previously reported) firmware updated version 2.20 for the Nikon Z6 and Z7 cameras with CFexpress support and RAW video output. Also, as previously reported, only Sony Type B CFexpress memory cards are supported (available for pre-order at Adorama and B&H). Here are the download links:

Tamron released a new firmware update for the SP 15-30mm f/2.8 lens (model A012) which ensures compatibility with the Z system.

A quick update on the upcoming Nikon Z6/Z7 firmware update that is rumored to be announced this week (tomorrow?): the firmware update will bring CFExpress compatibility but only for selected CFExpress memory cards (Sony CFExpress memory cards, for example, I was told). A second firmware will be released later with support for additional CFExpress brands.
The first CFExpress memory cards are already in stock at Adorama and B&H (in the UK as well).
