After 70 years Nikon to end camera production in Japan, manufacturing moving to Thailand by the end of 2021


The Japanese Asahi (translated) reports that after more than 70 years Nikon will end camera production in Japan. The Z6 and Z& production were already moved to Thailand and the D6 will be moved by the end of 2021. Cost-cutting is the main reason for the move. The Nikon factory in Sendai will continue to play an important role in future camera production.
