There is a new firmware update version 1.2.0 for the Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 Z mirrorless lens (the first autofocus Z-mount lens from a third party). The new firmware contains improved lens compatibility.

I usually do not report on speculation from the Dpreview forums, but this one is interesting and I think it is worth mentioning here – the upcoming Nikon Z9 camera sensor could be produced by Tower Semiconductor (former TowerJazz) and not by Sony. Both threads on Dpreview are very long (see here and here) – here are the main points:

There is no way for me to confirm that, but I got a tip that Nikon has discontinued their pension plan for their employees in the US. I was told that Nikon employees who haven’t turned 65 were offered a lump-sum buyout. Nikon will no longer offer a pension plan for their US employees (a pension plan is not a required benefit in the US and only a few companies are still offering it).

The Tokina SZX 400mm f/8 super-telephoto reflex MF lens for Nikon F-mount was introduced last year. Today Tokina announced that the lens will be compatible also with Nikon Z-mount. Keep in mind that the lens comes with T-mount and Tokina provides different adapters for the different camera mounts.
