Nikon Z9 camera pre-orders (coming soon)

The Nikon Z9 camera and new lenses will be available for preorder shortly after the official announcement (either tonight after midnight or tomorrow morning around 8 am EDT). The good part is that some stores already have listings for the Z9 that will convert to pre-orders at some point in the next 12+ hours:

The Nikon Z9 Amazon listing will come later – usually a day or two after the announcement.

Here are some additional links to check for outside of the US – I will update them once the Z9 is listed:

Given the current global part shortage and shipping issues,  I expect the Nikon z9 to be out of stock for a long time. Make sure you place a pre-order early even if you are still not sure if you need one – you can always cancel the pre-order later.

Year in review 2021: Nikon lenses

Before the official announcement of three new Nikkor lenses this week, B&H Photo posted a nice recap titled “Year in review 2021: Nikon lenses” – you can read it here.

With the three upcoming lenses, Nikon will have a total of 8 new mirrorless lenses announced for 2021, which is pretty impressive! Here are the lenses from the latest Nikon Z roadmap that still need to be announced:

Here is a mockup of the Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.2 lens:

Next are all Nikkor Z lenses from the roadmap side-by-side:

Some of the previous Z9 posts are getting close to 1000 comments and Disqus is acting strange again, so  I figured we need another post to continue the discussion for the upcoming announcement.

Confirmed: Nikon Z9, FTZ II adapter and 2-3 new Nikkor Z lenses to be announced

Nokishita confirmed the upcoming Nikon product – here is a list taken from an online retailer:

I am glad that the Nikon FTZ II adapter rumors are now confirmed.

I already reported that we will only get a development announcement for the Nikkor Z 400mm f/2.8 S lens and this explains why the lens is not listed at the online store that leaked the above info.
