  • No more free lunch – Nikon Switzerland will discontinue its free sensor cleaning service on June 1st, 2011.
  • It seems that Nikon Netherlands is extending the warranty to 2 years for some products. Not sure about the details, but a [NR] reader received a letter from Nikon with a 2 years warranty certificate for items purchased few months ago.
  • Nikon Italy offers a free SB-900 if you buy D300s or D700 (till May  31st).

Nikon booth at CP+ Camera and Photo Imaging Show

Today is day 3 of the CP+ Camera and Photo Imaging Show that takes place in Yokohama, Japan. Similar to CES 2011, there are hardly any press coverage of the Nikon booth for the simple reason that there are no new products. Here are some images from the CP+ Nikon booth sent by a reader:

Nikon’s mirrorless plans to be disclosed next month?

The Austrian broadcasting company ORF published an interview (in English) with Wolfgang Lutzky, the head of Nikon Austria.

When asked when Nikon would enter this market (i.e. mirrorless), Lutzky referred to the next presentation of financial results in March and mentioned that Nikon’s top managers might lay out their (mirrorless) plans at this occasion. FYI, Nikon’s financial year ends on March 31, 2011.
