Nikon is currently working on a new camera with a large(-r) sensor to compete with the Canon PowerShot G1X ($799). It’s not clear if Nikon will just use the 1″ sensor from their mirrorless line or they will go with a new 1.5″ sensor similar to the G1X. The current Coolpix P7100 camera has 1/1.7″ CCD sensor.
