Firmware update 1.10 prepares the Nikon 1 J1 and V1 cameras for the FT1 adapter

  Nikon issued firmware update for the Nikon 1 J1 and V1 mirrorless cameras which adds pixel mapping and support for the FT1 mount adapter. The FT1 adapter enables the use of Nikon F-mount lenses on a Nikon 1 body. Here are the basics specifications:

Nikon 1 lenses get DxO marked

Nikon 1 V1 and J1 mirrorless cameras now shipping

The Nikon 1 mirrorless cameras are now shipping to retailers worldwide. In the US, B&H and Adorama are still closed and Amazon has a shipping date of November 15. Currently OneCall (Nikon V1 | Nikon J1) and J&R (Nikon V1 | Nikon J1) have the new cameras in stock. Update: Amazon got some kits in stock today.

Nikon 1 to start shipping on October 24

According to Amazon’s listings the Nikon 1 mirrorless cameras will start shipping on October 24th. Amazon UK has listed the same date. The official US press release listed the shipping date as October 20th.
