Nikon Z8 doesn’t like aftermarket batteries – Nikon restricts customers to using OEM batteries “for your safety”:  I have seen a few reports on this topic in the Nikon Z8 Facebook Group (see this post) but I do not have any additional information to share (third party Z8 batteries can be found at Adorama, Amazon, and B&H Photo):

This is nothing new really and Nikon (and other manufacturers) have been doing it for a while:
